No more surplus for Northern Health
The Northern Health Board has released information about anticipated spending for the rest of their current fiscal year.
At a meeting held in Dawson Creek, the board received a financial report indicating Northern Health is operating with budget but with a very small surplus of $268,000 for the first two months of the fiscal.
The board's chair Charles Jago says they expect to break even the rest of the year, indicating increased costs during the winter due to higher acute care volume and greater energy use. The regions annual operating budget is $589 million.
