Roosevelt Park Elementary Public Consultation

The Board of Education for school district 52 hosted a public consultation for Roosevelt Park Elementary School in Prince Rupert last night. Like previous consultations for other schools also on the chopping block, parents were overcome by emotion as they asked the trustees not to close down their child's school.  The board acknowledged concerns which were addressed and stated that as a result of the severity of the pending closures, an additional fourth public consultation meeting has been scheduled for March 15th at Charles Hayes Secondary School when everyone is encouraged to attend and voice their concerns. A final decision regarding the potential closures of Port Edward, Westview and Roosevelt Elementary school is slated towards the end of the Month.
