Terrace, Houston Minor Hockey Teams Could Win Provincial Titles Today

The Terrace PeeWee Reps will play for the Provincial Tier Three Championship this morning in Winfield. Terrace edged Campbell River 4-3 in last night's semi-final, and will play Castlegar for the BC title this morning at 11. Campbell River plays Burnaby for the bronze.

In Burns Lake, both the host team and Houston won their games at the Midget Tier Four provincials at the Tom Forsyth Arena. Houston hammered Whitehorse 11-3, and will finish the round robin this morning with a game against Golden at 8am. Whoever wins that game advances to tonight's Championship final against Chase. Burns Lake outscored Surrey 4-2 last night, and will finish the round robin this afternoon at 2 against Nakusp.

The Burns Lake Peewees finished the Tier 4 Provincials in Clearwater with a 6-2 victory over Windermere Valley yesterday. The Championship went to Lumby, which edged Arbutus 2-1 in the final.

The Kitimat Bantams surrendered four goals late in the game as they lost 7-3 to Juan de Fuca, in the Tier Two provincials in Williams Lake. The tournament wraps up today.

In Castlegar, the Terrace Bantams were edged out of the medal picture by the host team, after finishing 2-and-2. The Terrace Midgets ended up 1-and-3 at the Provincials in Victoria Juan de Fuca.

And the Houston-based Northwest team lost their opening game of the Midget Female provincials in Richmond yesterday -- they were blanked 3-0 by Abbotsford.
